That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? John 12:38 (KJV)
Our lives would be very different as Christians if we just made the decision to believe God and to believe everything He says in His word. It is so simple to say, ‘I believe God’ but we find it very difficult to do because of all the things happening around us, and we are drawn to believe them because they appear so real to us. However, God encourages us in His word that we should not look (focus on, pay all of our attention to and intently consider) the things that are seen all around us but that we should look at (focus on, pay all of our attention to and intently consider) the things that are not seen.
The things we do not see with our natural eyes are the promises of God, the word of God which is more real and more powerful than all that we see. God goes on to tell us why we should do this? He says we should so this because everything we see today is temporary, it is all subject to change by your faith, your belief in God and His word which is permanent. Everything changes when we believe the word of God (2 Corinthians 4:17,18).
I remember in my life receiving a report that if I believed it would lead me and my family down a medical path I do not believe was God’s plan for us. So once we got the report we had to make a decision whether to believe the report or if we would believe God’s word. God’s word on healing was not difficult to see as we knew Jesus healed many people according to their faith and we also knew that the word said so much about God’s healing provision for mankind including telling us that Jesus bore all our sicknesses and took all our infirmities. So the question for us was whether we would believe it just as the word said it or not. We decided to be true to our faith and we chose to believe the word of God. So instead of focusing on, paying all our attention to and intently considering the report, we decided to focus on, pay all our attention to and intently consider the words of God in relation to our healing. It worked, faith worked and praise God for we received the manifestation of God’s healing power, the thing around us that had appeared real had been changed permanently by believing the word of God.
You see making the decision was the most important thing. Once the decision has been made to believe God and His word, the Holy Spirit starts to work with you to experience the full manifestation of God’s word in your life, to permanently change things for you. The word of God is good news for everyone because in it is contained every promise from God for every situation we will face in this life. Romans 1:16 in the easy to read version says, “I am proud of the Good News, because it is the power God uses to save everyone who believes…”
I hope you are proud of the good news today. Get to know the good news because it saves everyone who believes it. The word saves is a compound word that means more than just our salvation. It also means to rescue, to deliver, to preserve from danger, to bring us to safety physically and morally and to bring healing. Believing God and His word is the way God saves us. Believing God and His word reveals the arm of God (that is His victory) to us. Believing God and His word is the way God changes things in our life. All because the word of God is the power of God for change.
So make a decision to always believe God and His word!
